Hey y’all!
I definitely did not think that it would have taken me this long to get to my second post but such is life when you’re a mama of 3 with lots going on behind the scenes.
So as you know, we’ve been in our rental apartment for almost 7 months now and it’s been a whirlwind of events since we moved here. I didn’t have the easiest pregnancy so it didn’t help the moving process of course. Packing and unpacking took what felt like a lifetime. Any woman whose ever had to move with kids while pregnant knows exactly what I mean!
On top of that my beautiful, sweet granny passed away the day after my baby was born. She was my second mommy and I learned so much from her. I love her to my very core and miss her like crazy. I still haven’t wrapped my head around the fact that she’s really gone… but that’s another story for another day.
All that to say I went from moving mode, to baby prep mode, to birth mode, to grief mode. My house turned into a hotel for about a month with immediate family coming from out of town to deal with funeral and estate business. All while dealing with postpartum complications, crazy emotions and still trying to sort out our home. Needless to say I was not managing well and completely overwhelmed for months.
So now, 7 months later, I’m extremely anxious to get this place in order and up to my standard! When we moved we brought my mother in-law to come live with us now that she’s retired; and to make our move easier we decided to take no huge furniture with us from Toronto & use all my mother in-laws furniture. The plan was that bit by bit we would replace her stuff with the furniture that we like. The thing is, I never thought it would have taken so long for us to get into shopping mode but many important things came up that caused us to put house shopping on the back burner. I think hubby and I are starting to get back on the same page and we will shortly be getting to him buying and me home making!
I can’t tell you how excited I am about it! Let’s just say, my mama in law and I have very different taste in home decor so I’m looking forward to modernizing the place and making my home my own!
I’ll be posting photos of all the rooms in the house and show you ideas of what I have in mind for them! My goal is to be as cost effective as possible ( because who isn’t on a budget these days) and hope to inspire you to make your own home what you envision! Stay tuned!
Hugs & Love ❤
